Ten interesting things
Ten interesting things?
I’ve changed my blog theme again. I’m now using the Twenty Ten 1.1 WordPress theme. Why change it? The Revolt Basic theme was ok, but I was sick of not having sidebars that I could post links in.
I’ve closed most of the reader comments on my blog. This is because lots of very people were visiting my website, thinking I would let them advertise their dodgy software, fake perfume, and loads of other stuff for free. Thanks, but no thanks. If you want to say hello, you can contact me on Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, or the contact page on this blog.
I don’t buy or download much music these days. I keep coming across some really great songs on Soundcloud, and I’d love to spend hours listening to new music and keeping up with everyone’s tunes, but there’s just no time these days. In the meantime, go onto my Soundcloud page and listen to my tunes and those of my followers!
Some advice for people who have moved home in the UK and who’s telephone/broadband supplier says they can’t or won’t transfer the line. Threaten them with OFCOM. I did, and it worked. My so-called “supplier” wouldn’t budge. Wanted £100 to put in a second line. I knocked them down to £39 but they wouldn’t budge again. “OFCOM” I said. They said “how about a free second line?” Thanks, I said.
I’ve been listening to my old songs again. I don’t mean the ones from 2005 like Never Alone and Croydon Library. The songs I mean are things like “Paradis Chinois” and “Me and the Telephone“. These are the first songs I ever wrote, or at the first ones I recorded. Way back in 1984/85. I’ve actually got around 6 or 7 cassette tapes full of songs – some good, some bad, some cheezy. Listen to them on Soundcloud – mistrust from the 80s. Have a laugh or admire what a good songwriter I was!
I always thought that dentists use fillings to fill cavities or chipped teeth. Seems not. During a trip to the dentist to replace a lost filling, she said she was using an “adhesive” to fill the gap. I cracked on Facebook the other week that due to NHS cutbacks, dentists are now using superglue….
We’ve moved house. Never again.
The remix I did for Warp Technique still hasn’t been released. It’s supposed due out early next year. It’s part of an EP of remixes of Warp Technique songs. If you haven’t heard of them, click here to go to the band’s Myspace.
You can still buy Waveform Transmissions Volume Three which features my remix of International Observer’s Popcorn Slavery. A proper release on a proper record label!
Happy Christmas! That’s ten, isn’t it.
